The Valley Municipal Utility District No. 2 has installed a new billing system which will allow you to have your water bill automatically paid from your checking account. This service is optional, and there is no fee. If you wish to utilize this service, please fill out and sign an authorization form and provide us with a voided check.

VMUD#2 provides water,sewer, and drainage systems for the Town of Rancho Viejo and the River Bend Resort. It is located nine miles from Brownsville, Texas on US Highway #83 and State Highway#77.

VMUD#2 was formed in June 30, 1972 under the state water code provisions of the Texas Commission of Environmental Quality. It has the authority to levy and collect property taxes on property located within the District boundaries.

A governing board of five members is elected for a term of four years each. To qualify and serve, the director has to either own land subject to taxation within the District or be a qualified voter within the District. Current Directors are:

  • Richard Lindeman, President
  • Roger Nelson, Vice-President
  • Chris Partridge, Secretary/Treasurer
  • Oscar Gonzalez, Director
  • Walter Hager, Director

Regular Board meetings are conducted at 9:00 a.m. on the third Tuesday of every month, with special meetings conducted when required.

Business hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. In the event of a water related emergency after hours, please call us at (956) 350-4136 and our answering service will forward your information to our 24-hour on call personnel for prompt assistance.
